Blogging

Me, December, 2008
Way back in the summer of 2008, I was relatively unaware of the blogosphere. Between June and August of that year, I was going through a jumbled mess of medical testing that led me to a breast cancer diagnosis. I decided to start a blog in order to share information in the most efficient way. Being the prolific over-sharer I am, I soon started to move beyond just facts and into some of the more spiritual and emotional issues surrounding my situation. In retrospect, I am so grateful to have this real record of my progress because it has been an incredible gift of authenticity. All too often what really happened gets confused with what I wished would have happened, so I have the pretty and not-so-pretty moments recorded as they unfolded.

I knew the power of writing going into this, but I became a believer without reservation after the year I spent blogging.

After I finished my treatment, my blog happily became obsolete, but I started this one, Uneasy Pink, to continue to process my unfolding story and to search for a direction as I move forward.
